Cricklehaze is a striking countryside retreat where heritage character meets contemporary comfort. Reached via wide steps and an accessible pathway, the front door opens into a generous entrance hall showcasing thick local-stone walls and characterful lighting fashioned from reclaimed milking jars – a subtle tribute to the building’s agricultural past.
Living & Social Spaces
At the heart of the house is a vast open-plan hub designed for gathering. One end hosts a relaxed lounge with bold, colourful sofas and a large television, perfect for movie nights or lazy afternoons. The adjoining kitchen is fully fitted with modern appliances and anchored by an impressive central island, with reclaimed milk churns cleverly converted into statement seating.
Floor-to-ceiling glass doors draw the outside in and lead straight onto the terrace. Beyond the kitchen, a one-of-a-kind statement dining table takes pride of place, doubling as both functional furniture and artistic centrepiece.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Four bedrooms sit close to the entrance hallway, alongside a family bathroom, offering a practical layout for mixed groups. A further three bedrooms are located along the inner corridor, creating quieter zones for rest and relaxation.
All bedrooms feature zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as either kings or twins. Bedrooms 2–5 have space for an additional bed (available for a supplement), while Bedroom 7 is designed with accessibility in mind. Throughout the house, industrial-inspired touches – such as copper-pipe curtain rails and hanging rails – add a distinctive edge.
Outdoor Living
Step outside to discover a spacious patio with a sheltered dining area, ideal for long lunches and evening barbecues. A sweeping lawn stretches towards the spa building, giving a wonderful sense of space and privacy.
Private Spa Complex
The dedicated pool and spa hall is for your exclusive use throughout your stay. Facilities include changing rooms, showers, toilets, a laundry area, and a combined games and cinema room with a viewing window into the pool.
Inside the pool hall, you’ll find a generous sauna, a large indoor swimming pool, plenty of space for loungers, and a sleek stainless-steel hot tub recessed into the floor. Expansive windows overlook the garden, creating a light-filled and tranquil atmosphere.
Exploring the Area
Footpaths from the doorstep wind through open farmland and rolling countryside, offering easy access to classic Somerset landscapes and wildlife-rich walks. For longer adventures, Castle Neroche and Otterhead Lakes are close by and well worth visiting.
The famous Jurassic Coast is within easy reach for seaside days. Lyme Regis offers family attractions, coastal walks, museums, and boat trips, while the nearby villages of Beer and Branscombe provide quieter charm, coastal pubs, and scenic sections of the South West Coast Path.
